Description
The Relationships: Understanding Yourself and Others workshop series focuses on identifying ways to foster healthy relationships via self-monitoring, effective communication, and conflict resolution skills.
In this three session workshop series you will:
- Better understand your values and boundaries in relationships
- Learn the role of culture in communication, different styles of communication, and strategies for effective communication
- Identify common causes of conflict and effective conflict management techniques
This workshop series is adapted from Cal Poly's BRIDGE (Building Relationship Intimacy and Dialogue Effectiveness) workshop series. You can also download and review the BRIDGE Student Workbook that we'll use in the workshop.
This is a non-clinical series provided by Retriever Integrated Health, so no appointments or consultations are required and any UMBC community member can join this in-person session! If you can only make 1 or 2 of the workshops, that's ok too.
If you have any questions, please email the workshop facilitators Patrice Marshall (patricey@umbc.edu) or Marie Celano (mcelano1@umbc.edu).
If you need accommodations for a disability, please contact Stephanie Will (swill1@umbc.edu) at least one week prior to the start of the workshop and RIH will arrange for services.
All RIH services are LGBTQIA2S+ friendly and are welcoming to all diverse populations.
