RIH Counseling short-term services are free. RIH Health charges the Baltimore-area usual and customary fee for its services. This includes visit fees, procedures, laboratory services, and medications. You may pay these charges with your UMBC campus card or debit/credit card, or you may have them billed to your account in the Student Business Services office. RIH will bill your insurance company if you provide your current insurance card to us at the time of your visit. Any charges not covered by your insurance will be billed to your account in the Student Business Services office.
RIH is a participating provider with several insurance companies. Please check with your insurance provider to determine whether or not your insurance carrier covers services provided here. We can provide you with a coded bill to present to your insurance carrier for reimbursement if needed.
All services provided outside RIH, such as lab tests, x-rays, and hospitalization, are provided at the student’s expense. Most outside providers will bill your insurance company directly.
If you don’t come to your appointment, a no-show fee will be billed to your account unless you notify RIH. Please call RIH at 410-455-2542 in advance if you know you will be late or are unable to come to your appointment.
